Everything that keeps your puppet from falling over mid-shot, in one box.
In stop motion, the things holding your puppet up are called rigs and tie-downs. They keep a character standing, jumping or flying while you move it one frame at a time, and you paint them out afterward (that step is called rig removal). This kit gives you the full set of holding tricks animators actually use, packed by hand.
Basic kit
- Reusable museum putty: holds props, feet and background paper in place
- Spool of clear monofilament line for flying and jumping shots
- 10 neodymium magnets plus a steel set-floor plate: magnetic tie-downs for light puppets
- 4 threaded tie-downs with wing nuts: the pro method for heavier puppets
- 1 helping-hands clip arm for holding small props mid-air
- Our one-page rig-removal guide
Pro kit
Everything in the Basic kit, plus a rig arm that we've tested on our own bench: a poseable support arm for holding a puppet mid-jump, mid-walk or in flight.
Ships in 5–7 business days.
