What it's for: real registered animation on cheap everyday printer paper. Acme paper and Acme punches are the studio standard, but they add up fast. This set uses the other registration system: three round pegs. With it, a ream of copy paper becomes animation paper.
What's in the box
- Lightfoot round peg bar: 10" long, three 1/4" round pegs, and molded plastic pegs that won't snap
- A 1/4" hand hole punch

The studio secret: the peg bar is your punch guide
- Lay a sheet over the peg bar and press down so each peg leaves a small dent.
- Punch each dent with the 1/4" punch.
- Punch one sheet this way, then use it as a template: stack it on 5 to 10 blank sheets and punch through the template's holes.
Why not a regular office 3-hole punch? Most office punches cut 9/32" or bigger holes. That's loose enough that your drawings wiggle on the pegs, and wiggle is exactly what registration is supposed to stop. A true 1/4" hole fits snug.
