A lot of claymation animators have this clay on their table. Plastalina is oil-and-wax based, so it never dries out. You can squash it, reshape it, and animate it for weeks, then reuse it on the next film.

Studio tips

• Never put it in the oven. This isn't Sculpey. It will melt into a greasy puddle.
• Hot lights soften it. Use LED lights and your puppet holds its shape much longer through a shot.
• Knead it warm before you animate. Cold clay cracks, and warm clay keeps a smooth surface.
• Wipe it with a little mineral oil on a paper towel to erase fingerprints between shots.
